ORIGINAL Music

River is a songwriter and vocalist whose music centers around carefully crafted lyrics that can bring about both laughter and tears. With a voice sometimes likened to Joan Baez or Joni Mitchell, River's fluttering soprano is matched by a richly emotional chest voice, backed up by warm acoustic baritone ukulele. Their music is available on their Bandcamp for free listening and purchased downloads.

NEW SONG: “Something’s Gotta Give” by River Navaille. December 2021.

As 2021 approached its looming end, so much having changed and yet so little, I was inspired to write this mood piece about life at this point in time amidst the collapse of late-stage capitalism.

QUARANTINE SONG: "Right Where I Am" by River Navaille. 22 March 2020.

I wrote this song my first week social distancing. This song helped me work through missing my people - students, friends, family, all. In April 2020, The Sunset Cultural Center produced a remote collaboration between myself and four other local musicians, Razzvio, James Lee Murray, Taylor Rae, and Leche Malo. Below is the finished result. Stay well, stay flexible, and stay CREATIVE! Video editing by Andrew Marderian.
